This week we’ll taste wines from the land of romance, flamenco and sun-drenched vineyards: Spain. Winemaking in Spain is in transition from its traditional base of big, tannic reds (read Rioja), to a wide variety of whites and reds that have fresh flavors and are geared more for an international market. There’s a lot of experimentation going on, and a lot of bargains to be found! Our lineup will include:
Kila Cava – $11.99
Muga White Rioja (Viura) 2008 – $11.99 (was $16.99)
Protocolo Tempranillo 2009 – $7.99
Vega Sindoa Tempranillo/Merlot – $9.99
Tres Picos Garnacha 2008 – $17.99
Juan Gil Jumilla (Monastrell) 2008 – $17.99
The cost of the tasting is only $5 per person with a selection of complimentary cheese & crackers. This week we will also offer a premium pour ($3 for 2 oz.): Triton Prieto Picudo 2008 – $29.99
Friday’s tasting will be from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. And don’t forget – we taste these wines on Saturday, too, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.!
It’s great way to taste before you buy!
